Hyderabad is one of India's biggest IT and pharma centres and a magnet for people relocating for work and study. The city divides roughly into the fast-growing western tech belt and the older, denser central and eastern areas.

Where people rent The west around Gachibowli, HITEC City, Madhapur, Kondapur and Kokapet is the IT heartland, with everything from sharing PGs to newer 2BHK flats. Central areas like Ameerpet, Narayanguda and Himayatnagar are older, cheaper and full of students and coaching aspirants. Dilsukhnagar in the east is another big student and coaching belt. Secunderabad serves the north with steady residential demand.

Typical rents A shared PG bed usually runs about 5,000 to 9,000 a month with food, a single room or 1RK around 7,000 to 12,000, and a 1BHK roughly 10,000 to 18,000. The western IT areas sit at the higher end, while central and eastern areas are more affordable.

Who it suits IT and pharma professionals in the west, students and exam aspirants around Ameerpet and Dilsukhnagar, and government and hospital staff across the centre. Families often prefer the newer western suburbs or established colonies.

Getting around The Hyderabad Metro links the main corridors and is a big factor in where people rent, alongside city buses, autos and app cabs. Living near a metro station or the Outer Ring Road makes the tech parks much easier to reach.
